G-20 meeting in London

President Obama will be off to London Tuesday morning (D.C. time) for the G-20 meeting. The Group of Twenty (G-20) Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors was established in 1999 to bring together systemically important industrialized and developing economies to discuss key issues in the global economy.

Radio National broadcasts Dreams of My Father

Starting today at 10:45 am and running until 17 April, ABC Radio National is airing Dreams of My Father,  written and read by President Barack Obama. If you miss the early program, it will be repeated at 8:45PM Mondays through Thursdays, and at 7:45PM on Fridays.

Department of Defense report on Chinese military power

 Every year, the U.S. Department of Defense is required by law to submit a report to Congress on the Military power of the People’s Republic of China 2009 (PDF) .  The report addresses the current and probable future course of military-technological development of the People’s Liberation Army.

World Water Day 22 March

Sunday was World Water Day around the world and the last day of the World Water Forum conference.  In 1992, the UN General Assembly declared 22 March as World Day for Water to remind everyone that concrete efforts to provide clean drinking water and increase awareness world-wide of the problems and of the solutions can help make a difference.
